About The Owner ~ Karen Cervarich

In recent years, staging homes prior to sale has become an integral part of the listing process. No one understands this shift in the real estate community's thinking better than Karen Cervarich, President & Founder at KCD Staging, Inc.

With a background in interior design, Karen began a career in real estate with John L. Scott in Bellevue. With the advent of the downturn in the economy soon after her career shift and her knowledge of design, Karen began staging her own listings in order to help her sellers achieve a faster sale in what proved to be a very challenging market.  Other agents in her office took note of Karen's success and began asking her to stage their Seattle and Eastside home listings as well.  What started as a supplement to her chosen career soon enough became a career in itself.  Karen founded KCD Staging as a result, and made the choice to switch to staging full time shortly thereafter.

Of course now things are drastically different. Seattle and Eastside area listing agents and home sellers alike have found themselves in a much better position given the current state of the market: high demand, low inventory, soaring home prices and incredibly low days on market, continuing to shock even the most successful industry professionals here in the hottest real estate market in the nation.  Still, somehow staging stuck.  We all live in our homes very differently than the way that they need to be presented upon introduction to the real estate market.  Buyers expectations have changed along with the changes in technology affecting the way the entire real estate industry operates.
